What Alyson Learned While I Was In North Carolina

Alyson pieced this one for our sweet Ava.

I took her an embroidery machine and this is what she did. She has caught on quick.
This one she had started before I got there and there was a few problems but we ironed them out and this is what she ended up with.
It is sad that I have to leave soon. Have had a lot of fun with all of my kids can't wait to come back and spend more time with them. I am leaving her with the knowledge of how to post so we can enjoy some of her work.

Did these on my new machine. I just been having fun.

I pieced this quilt and my mom did it on the sewing machine.
Mom did these the quick blankets. They are just two pieces of material.

Here is a diaper bag that I have done. It is all John Deere.
I did these burp rags on my new machine. Needless to say I will be sending all of this off today except the butterflies. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Part of what we have been up too

I did these on my embroidery machine. When Mom was in hospital getting her knee replaced she quilted it. This is for one of my husbands bosses. His wife wanted a lady bug blanket so we put this together.
Before my husband got sick he wanted me to make this quilt for his boss who is retiring at the end of this month. It took me awhile to do this for we found out he was sick so I did it when I could. I think he would of liked it.
This is his bosses picture that I have put on the quilt.
This quilt will be signed by the people who are going to be at the retirement party. Well my husband will not be there so I put his picture on the back of the quilt. He and his boss were really close. I sure hope that Rex likes his quilt. I will find out on the 31st of August.
Well in a day or two I will post more of what we have done.

Sorry for not posting

Sorry that I have not been posting lately. We have not had a good year. Most of you don't know this so here it is. Last year on June 26 my husband Milo and I were told that he had stage 3 lung cancer. Well he had done the chemo and the radiation. We thought that he was beating it. Than just as he finished with chemo and radiation it had traveled to his brain. So January I started taking him to work everyday.  But the sad part about is he lost in the fight on May 8, 2013. It has been hard but we are making it. I wish that anybody else that has cancer will beat it. I know that my husband tried hard.
Well we have done a few projects and finishing up a few so in the next couple of days I will be posting them. I will be doing only a couple at a time. So please come back and see what we have done. So until next time take care and my God Bless you.

Another quilt that Mom has made.

This is the last quilt for the grand kids. This is Troy's quilt.

What's new

The two above quilts we have finished. It took awhile to do. But we have been busy with of lot of personal stuff. So when we get a chance we try to finish old projects.
This baby blanket and bumper pad we made for a customer. It was kind of fun to do. We plan on doing more of them in the near future. Once we get our house in order again. Hopefully I can get so motivation out of myself this year. But it hasn't been a good start. But we shall move on forward.

Quilts Mom and I have done

Mom did this quilt. It is a shelf binding quilt. Took her about 15 minutes to do it, that includes cutting it out.
I pieces this quilt sometime ago and Mom just recently quilted it on the machine.
This quilt was done the same way. If we keep this up we will have a stash of quilts.

Quilts Mom has done.

This is a baby blanket mom has done. It is real easy. She learned how to do this at my sister Jeanette's house(inchworm fabrics)
I did this quilt while mom was gone and when she came home she quilted it. My sister Barbara(bejeweled quilts) cut this out with her go cutter.
h
Now this last quilt our Mom has done for another grandson David. So David here it comes. Now she only has one mom quilt to go for her grandchildren. After this she can move on to the projects she has been wanting to do. Go Mom.

Hope everyone has a nice day and keep on quilting.

Been haveing fun.

I took all those lady bugs I did and the above is what I came up with. I am in the process of hand quilting it. But it will take a little bit because I have another quilt in a big frame that I am trying to get out before Sept 15, I don't think I will make it. This one will be done before that one. Oh well.
The above is one that I have quilted and now it just needs binding. Maybe when Mom gets home I can talk her into binding.
This is another lady bug quilt. I know I am lazy because it is not ironed. Well it will be when I quilt it.

These quilts are for nobody. Can you believe I have no babies due that the moment. Well we do but that quilt is almost done. I am trying to get ahead of the pack. But everyone knows what that means someone will have a baby soon.

Oh well what a lovely day it is today. Have to go to the big town which is 45 minutes away.

Have a nice day and I will try to post later.

Baby blankets

My sister from bejeweled quilts was down in June before our mom left to go to my sister in Washington State. She brought her go cutter and cute out of our scraps the drunken path. This is one of them that I put together. Now I just have to quilt it.

She also cut us some apple core out and I put this one together. Now I just have to quilt it. I am not very good at quilting on my machine so these will have to be done by hand.

What I have been up too

I decided to play with my embroidery machine. My sister from average quilter gave me this pattern so I decided to make them. Now I just have to put them together. I have other things to post so maybe I will get better at posting. Earlier today I tried to post this but my internet went down do to rain( not complaining because we needed it.) So in the next couple of days I will have this together.

I will try and post something tomorrow that another sister has helped me with.

Stalana's Quilt

Mom had finished this quilt for Stalana before she left to go to my sister Jeanette(inchworm fabrics). She at the end of June for the summer.

This is a close up of one of the cats. This quilt has turned out real cute. I turned on my camera to take this picture and after I put it on I saw that the date is wrong. Sorry I will have to fix it later.

Carly's Quilt

This quilt I should of had on here along time ago. Mom had finished it for my niece Carly and I fought to take a picture of it. So my niece took a picture of it and sent it to my phone. Now mom has only 2 1/2 quilts left to do.
I made this cover for the carts at Walmart or any other store that has a cart for my grand daughter which is due any day now. I have other things to put on but I will do another day. Have a great day.

Milo's Quilt

I am going to try this again. I tried to post this the other day. When I went to publish it disappeared on me. So I have to start all over. Here we go.

My sister Margaret (Average Quilter) gave me the material for this quilt. She had it already cut out so all I had to do was piece it and quilt it.

Well when I had gotten it pieced my husband said it this my quilt. Of course it is. Than my daughter came along and said is this my quilt. Sorry Dad already claimed it. Bummer.

This is the middle of the quilt on the back. I took pictures with my phone for at the time I could not find my camera.
This is around the border of the quilt. It took me about 6 months to quilt this quilt. I am so glad that it is out of my frame and done. Now I have more projects to get finished.

I hope everyone has a Happy Mother's Day.

Old Red Cross Blankets

Our cousin from South Louisiana had these Wool Red Cross Blankets. They wanted us to cover them so they would not be so scratchy.
This is what we did to them. We took two pieces of fabric and covered them. We tied them instead of quilting them. Too thick to quilt. Almost too thick to tied. Than Mom put binding on them.
This is the other one. I think they turned out pretty good.
