Round Robin Square - Barb
Well, mine is done. Don't worry, you all still have a month. Vance is just leaving for Hawaii on the 31st so I finished mine up so he could send it from there. Along with the square will be coming matching fabric. I will probably have to down size my square so don't let it bother you much when planning your squares.

All IN A DAYS WORK!
This is one of those quilt that was tagged for someone. That someone being Kevin. When Sue passed away, Teresa gave me this partially finished quilt along with some material. I worked on this in the past but just never finished it. I think one reason was that I did not have any border materail. I think I have found some that will work. It is just like the black in the quilt but with bigger flowers. I am happy to have this one almost done. Just a border and then ready for quilting. I am sure I will hand quilt this one. Sue loved all my sons but Kevin had a special place in her heart since she was around Kevin the most.

PROJECT OF THE WEEK!
I got this quilt kit from Connecting Threads. I usually don't buy kits (except for Walmart quilt of the month)but I have looked and looked at this one for a long time and have wanted to order it. It went on sale and so here it is. Now for those of you out there, have you ever had a day when you keep guessing yourself? Making small mistakes?.....Well, when I was cutting this out, that was me. I should have at that time just stop and take it up another day. You would think that 1/4 of an inch would not make much difference but it does. David was on the computer while I was cutting this quilt out...I kept calling myself stupid....he would say "Mom you are not stupid"....well....I should have stopped working....I was having an absence of brain matter that day.... Even still, it turned out pretty but not perfect. I want perfect....when I achieve it, I will let you all know.

CUTE! CUTE! CUTE!
I got this pattern off ebay. I wanted to make it so bad and so I did. I am hoping that I can sell it on ebay. This pattern was alot of fun.
Any suggestions on what to start out the bidding for? I will have to take a better picture, this picture is just not as cute as the actual quilt, the colors are not vivid as the actual quilt.

Janome Sewing Machine
So....yesterday I threatened my Janome that I was going to throw it away. I shook it real good and then walked away. My frustration had gotten the best of me, I had had enough. I was complaining to Vance that I didn't know what I was going to do now that my Janome was not working right. I had all these projects to finish (I use this machine for stippling only, it wouldn't stop breaking my thread. I could not even sew a few stitches without the thread breaking. Before leaving Texas, I even took it to the shop to have them figure out why the thread kept breaking, they said they fixed it????? I shook this machine countless times to my shame. It is only 13 years old, it should have some more good years left in it. So there I was frustrated, upset that the two remaining years in American Samoa without stippling and all these projects to finish. So I decided to bake, relieve frustration. I have been dealing with this for months, changing the needle, changing thread, freezing thread (suppose to help with breaking thread), etc. So coming back to the machine, I rethreaded it and a little voice said, thread it there, there is this small loop at the very top of the needle, it was threaded through one of the loops but this one was very small and to the side. Guess what? It worked.....YEPEEEEEEE I was so happy last night. Vance asked why I was so happy,he asked if I had a good nap that day. I just rolled my eyes and smiled....my machine is working and it doesn't take much to make me happy. So a good shaking every once and a while doesn't hurt but threading it the right way will help every time. Something so simple!!!
HANCOCK $5.00 QUILT
When I worked in Blue Springs Missouri, the Hancock store at the corner started up a five dollar quilt. You pay five dollars and each month you come in, show the block you did and get another block to do. When finished in 12 months, you would have only paid five dollars for the quilt. Of course, you pay for the sashings, binding and backing, that is how they get your money. I was doing this but was not able to go the full 12 months due to moving. I got eight of them. Before I left, I purchased what materials I could to finish the quilt. I am just now getting the quilt finished, it has been five years. Hummmmmm
