Diaper Bag

Well After two months of trying to put this diaper bag together I am done. I can say it has ate my lunch. If I ever do this one again I am going to do some modifications to it. i think it turned out real cute.
I also made this little bag to put wipes or diapers in.That was the easiest one to do.
Than I made these two burp rags. I know one is longer than the other. The blue one I did first than decided to make it a little longer.

Now with all that done I can get back to my quilting. I feel deprived.

I hope that everyone has a Happy New Year and that you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Lookie Lookie

I got this in the mail today. My sister Margaret from the average quilter and my brother Jim bought me this sewing machine. They bought for me in appreciation for taking care of our mother. I told them they should not have done it because I would do what I do no matter what. But it is really appreciated. I can't wait to play on it. So I am reading all the material this weekend so I can play on Monday. I left it up at my moms house for I will have the grand kids the last weekend of this month than they will go to NC.
Than my niece Carly sent me all this thread. I feel like it is my birthday. So let me say THANK YOU THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Stay tune to see what I come up with. But it will be about a week before I post anything.(so I can get used to the machine)

My pretties

This is a quilt for one of my great niece's. When mom and I were doing quilts for the wee one's we had forgot a few. I am sorry but we are fixing that little over site. We have one more to go.
This is a quilt that I have been working on for about 8 months. It is for my son Troy's girlfriend. It is hand quilted by the piece. I don't know why I put myself through all that but I do. The end result is the best.
This has nothing to do with quilting. I have a first cousin that makes these pictures out of wood. It sticks out of the frame. Well this is a picture of the house that my mother was born and raised in. There are so many memories from this house. It no longer stands but now we have this to refresh our memories. I told mom all that it needed was trees and memaw's flowers.

Another Baby Alphabet Quilt

Before our Mom left to go out of town with my sister Margaret ( the average quilter) we had put together another baby quilt for my niece. And I know I am slow about posting. I have been trying to finish a quilt that I have been doing for the last 7 months. I hand quilt so it takes me a little longer than most. But I am almost there.
The baby quilts I piece and my mom quilts them on the machine, than I use the kwik bind that my mother got for mothers day. (One day she will learn how to use it, but until than I will do it).

Hope everyone of you are having a great summer.

Blue Delight Quilt

I said that I would not put a quilt on my blog until it was quilted. But there is always exceptions to the rule. I have been wanting to make a quilt out of these colors. Well I did and I love it. So here it is but it is not quilted(I have a long line of quilts before it).

Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July. I love our country and appreciate the service men and women who protect it. Not just because I have a son who is a marine.

My sister from Average Quilter and I quilted this quilt. She used her quilting machine. This is the back of the quilt.
This is one of the squares that i had hand quilted.
This is the part were my sister used her quilting machine.
This is the end of the project that she and I did.

I gave this quilt to a friend. Her and her husband just loved the quilt. She keeps on thanking me for it. All I can say it was my pleasure to do this quilt with my sister. And I love giving a quilt to someone who really loves and appreciates it. She said that both of us did beautiful work.

Thank You Margaret for your help. We need to do it again(I get them done faster that way). Debbie wanted me to tell you thank you and she really loves the quilt.

Kwik Bind

Well here you go. I have been playing with the kwik bind. It did not go so well at first. I did this blanket and took it out. My sister Margaret from the average quilter told our mom that instead of having the machine side ways like they say to put the machine back the way it goes. Well I did that and it went great. Now I can't wait until I have another quilt to bind. With any luck I will have another one this weekend.

By the way I got the material for this quilt from my sister's store inch worm fabrics. I just love these panels.

Last week I had my grand kids. My son lives in OK and he had to have surgery so I had the pleasure of keeping these two lovely girls.

We really had a good time. There is nothing like grand kids. So needless to say I got no quilting done. But the week before I did finish a quilt. I will take a pic of it later and put it on the blog. I just had to show off my pretty girls.

Good and Bad

I don't have any pictures at this time. I just wanted to say I have been busy.

Well My last child graduated May 27. It sure was a sad thing but a good thing too. Sad because he is the last one of four. But I am proud of him. It sure was a hard road for him. Have no pictures at the time yet but I will soon.

Than Sunday night at 9:30 while I was talking to my daughter she had a wreck. Boy was I scared. A drunk driver ran a stop sign and hit her and her husband. The car was total. But the good news is they walked out of it. She has a black eye from hitting the door window and bruised her knees. Her husband got a busted lip, two staples in his chin and hurt his shoulder a little. It could of been a lot worse for they were not wearing their seat belts(lesson learned). I am thankful they are alright.
So this last week I have been helping them out. Which I am happy to do.

Oh yea the other bad thing is they guy that hit them had no insurance. But my daughter had full coverage.

I am thankful for all my family and friends. An experience like this makes you glad that you have both. So please everyone be careful and watch out for those who think they don't have to do the right thing.

Matts Baby Blanket

This is for my nephew Matt. he is in the navy. They are expecting a little boy. When Mom did his quilt I just thought it would be neat to do the baby one in the same material. I waited until they got the quilt because I wanted it to be a surprise. They love it.
